RESEARCH
My research is focused on understanding contributions of repetitive elements towards cancer development and therapeutic response. Major ongoing research objectives include: (i) elucidating mechanisms of repetitive element heterochromatinization by tumor suppressor proteins; (ii) elucidating contributions of repetitive DNA towards cancer initiation, immune evasion, and therapy resistance (iii) Identifying approaches to leverage repeat RNA and protein products towards augmentation of cancer immunotherapies and cancer detection.
